Miswak
The toothbrush tree grows in the deserts of Arabia, East Africa and Western Asia and combines the properties of toothbrush and toothpaste. It naturally contains tooth-protecting and cleaning substances.
No water or toothpaste is needed for cleaning the tooth with the Miswak. A branch is cut off and then chewed until one end is frayed to remind a brush. Afterwards, the teeth are cleaned and the broken pieces of wood are spat out. These teeth are used for cleaning the teeth, as a tongue scraper and for the massage of the gums.
The Miswak has a fluoride content of 8 to 22 ppm and has been used since the antiquity for cleaning the teeth.
Dental Care Ingredients:
Miswak: Fluoride with a beneficial effect as a structural element of our skeleton and teeth, silicon - irreplaceable for the preservation of connective tissue, cartilage, bone, hair, nails, teeth and calcium sulphate - is important in the construction of leaves, bones, teeth and Mussels (besides potassium and sodium, calcium sulfate plays an important role in the transmission of nervous system stimuli). The gypsum crystals are used in Miswak as plaster cores. They help to loosen the firmly adhering dirt from the teeth. Other ingredients are tannins (tannins are responsible for the slightly bitter taste, soothes mucous membranes, accelerates healing processes in injuries and inhibits inflammation), saponins, vitamin C, flavonoids (strengthen the immune system, prevent certain types of cancer, regulate blood pressure and inhibit inflammation - they are also considered antioxidants) and chlorides (chloride -Cl- is one of the electrolytes.) Chlorides are salts of hydrochloric acid (eg in the stomach).
